Frontline News!

Posted by Chris Hobday on

It's Monday, it's hot and so are the new releases! Let's take a look at what the industry has to offer in this week's Frontline News!

Night's Watch players rejoice! The new Builder Crossbowmen for A Song of Ice and Fire provide a tasty ranged attack option for punching through the enemy ranks. Their reliable accuracy, long range and the ability to apply Sundering to their attacks makes them a terrifying prospect. However, they're not going to last long when the enemy gets close, to make sure you keep the foe at arm's length!

House Lannister players shouldn't feel left out. The new Poor Fellows box includes a band of holy zealots, armed with an unshakeable faith. Stat-wise, they may not look all that effective for 5 points, but whenever they pass a Morale test they gain a Faith token that can be used to apply automatic wounds to an enemy. This is an ability that any enemy unit will come to fear!

Osprey Games just released another set of awesome skirmish rules for players seeking to explore a dark, dystopian cyberpunk world. Reality's Edge features full campaign rules and allows players to fight, shoot and hack their way through several different mission types. Definitely one to check out!

The Empire is getting a shot in the arm with the addition of the Dewback Rider! Legion commanders can now field these behemoths, pushing them forward and using their tough hide to weather incoming attacks in order to unleash a savage assault. With claws, shock prods, flame rifles and more, this unit provides a variety of options for Imperial players.

I know what you're thinking. 'Have Games Workshop taken a week off to chill out from their frenetic release schedule? Well... no. They haven't. Once again, we've got bucketloads of news, so much that we can't include it all here. So we're going to have to cherry-pick!

First off, I'm really excited about Aeronautica Imperialis: Wings of Vengeance. Mostly because the models are riffing on a wonderful WW2 aesthetic and just look incredible. It's on pre-order next week, so good luck resisting the pull of this one!

You'll also be able to incorporate them in your games of Warhammer 40,000! Check out a taster of the cross-over rules here!
