Every Monday we bring you our take on what's fresh in the industry and take a closer look at some of the most exciting new releases. It's time for Frontline News!
Guild Ball's organised play kits are now available to all and sundry! These are something truly special, featuring stunning metal momentum coins and coloured dice!
Not only that, but the Fisherman's Guild are being released in gorgeous blue resin on the 28th of June! Not only are these guys a hell of a lot of fun to face on the pitch, the minis are lovely. Steamforged Games does a brilliant job of giving each guild their own flavour and as you can see, the Fisherman's Guild is no exception!
Since last week, Games Workshop has been spoiling us with several sneak peeks at the various factions taking to the battlefield in Apocalyse. The Death Guard and the Thousand Sons have various awesome abilities to make them stand out, illustrating that this is a game as much about narrative as spectacle.
One thing I love about the Death Guard is their ability to spread the dubious blessings of Father Nurgle! You won't want to get too close to these foul warriors.
The Asuryani are shaping up to be a very mobile and flexible force. Preferring to manoeuvre into the best position and dictate the shape of the battle, the artists formerly known as Eldar will be able to rain a savage amount of firepower down on the enemy, making the most of their exotic and advanced weaponry. With 'Battle Focus' they can open up with their gun line, devastating the foe.
After showing us the new Imperium tanks for Warhammer 40,000, we've now been introduced to their arsenal of firepower. Got to love the Heavy Laser Destroyer. Anything with AP-4 gets me excited, and thanks to Aquilon Optics, the Primaris Repulsor Executioner can shoot twice at the same target! Space Marines no longer have to be jealous of the Leman Russ!
Heavy 2, Strength 10, AP-4, D6 damage... and shoots twice. Yes please.
KeyForge continues to grow, and Fantasy Flight Games have revealed the prizes on offer for participants in Store Championships. It's thrilling seeing this game expand and develop. Who knows what crazy combos are going to be unleashed?
There's news on the Imperial Assault front too! This much-loved game, with its superb competitive format, is getting a new map. Also being released for the App, the Malastarian Outpost Raid Map is a very cool and atmospheric interior battlefield. These maps aren't just great for Imperial Assault, of course. I've been using them for all manner of things - homebrew sci-fi RPGs, skirmish games, and so on.
So what are you looking forward to? Will your wallet survive the coming Apocalypse?
