Frontline News!

Crikey, where do we begin? Over the past seven days we've been assailed by a glorious host of awesome new rules and miniatures, and were still reeling. Let's try and take stock of it all with another edition of Frontline News!

zoat blackstone fortress GW

Now, we know what you're thinking. "The elves! The pointy, posh elves! They're back!" And yes, you're right. But they've only been gone for a few years. That's a mere blink of an eye compared to how long the Warhammer 40,000 universe has been without Zoats. This is a glorious model, full of sinister, otherworldly menace, and was clearly a labour of love for the design team. We imagine this fiendish personage will be wreaking havoc in the Blackstone Fortress!

LVO games workshop elves

Don't worry, the Zoat was just to clear the palate. Here's the real thing. Games Workshop's reveals from the Las Vegas Open are mind-blowing across the board, but the Lumineth Realm-Lords (or 'point elves' in the common tongue) stand head and shoulders above the rest. The relaunch of Games Workshop's fantasy range coincided with a huge leap in what the design team was capable of doing, and this model in particular highlights that. It's a hollow suit of armour. Posing with its swords at the ready. It's bonkers and I absolutely love it.

teclis warhammer age of sigmar

Also returning to Age of Sigmar is Teclis, a key character in the history of the Warhammer World and the Mortal Realms. We're sure he's going to have access to some stunning abilities and we can't wait to see the rules.

wurmspat rotbringers underworlds

Also revealed was another warband for Warhammer Underworlds. The Wurmspat are a bunch of fetid and fearsome Rotbringers who are sure to bring disease, jank and misery to their foes!

skitarii lvo games workshop

Before we move on from the smorgasbord of goodness unleashed at LVO 2020, we need to talk about the Skitarii. Not only are these guys some of the most detailed, unique and characterful models in the range, they're getting even more new additions. Chief of which are the Serberys Sulphurhounds. It's hard to get over how cool these are. The poses are dynamic, the detail is dazzling and they're going to look great harrying the foe as the Martian winds whip around them.

Those kind-hearted souls at Warhammer Community have published a helpful guide to the Spire Tyrants warband for Warcry. So if you're looking for aggression and versatility, check it out!

warcry myrmidon

Sticking with Warcry, there's a reveal of the rules behind a truly magnificent model, the Ogroid Myrmidon. What a model, and what a fearsome unit to have on the table!

visions in the flames asoiaf cmon

star wars legion FFG clone troopers

From bloodsoaked fantasy battlefields to a galaxy far, far away, FFG have unleashed the Phase 2 Clone Troopers Expansion for Star Wars Legion! More mobile than the previous generation, this tough and versatile unit can bring all manner of devastating weapons and tricky toolkits into battle, from the mortar launcher to grappling hooks.

raith'marid godtear sfg

Finally this week, Steamforged Games have given birth to a devastating menace from the deep, Raith'Marid! Rolling across the table like a tidal wave, he brings a new arsenal of abilities to games of Godtear. Able to effectively teleport across the board by vanishing and replacing any one of his followers, gain boons whenever a follower is removed, move as part of attacking, or reposition enemies with fearsome headbutts, this fiend is one to watch!

We did warn you it was a wild one this week. With so many awesome new releases on the horizon, let us know which ones will be making their way onto your wargaming table!
