Frontline News!

It's Monday, and you know what that means! Time to strap into your drop-pod and plunge at insane speeds into the latest releases!

So with the release of Warcry, you might imagine that the Games Workshop behemoth would finally rest for a bit and show our wallets some mercy. If the news from GenCon is anything to go by, you couldn't be more wrong. Before we've even got our Iron Golem off the sprue, we're already being lured back to the eternal galaxy-wide war of the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

games workshop space marines codex

As a Dark Angels player, I couldn't be more excited by the news that the Adeptus Astartes are getting not just a swathe of awesome new models, but new codexes and supplements, too. The Indomitus Edition contains metal coins and an invitation from Roboute Guilliman to join the crusade. It's very, very cool.

white scars 40k

As we might expect, the Ultramarines codex supplement is going up for pre-order first (next weekend to be exact) but interestingly, the White Scars will appear alongside it. It's great to see these fierce fighters move into greater focus, and with models like this, they're going to certainly broaden their appeal.

40k dreadnought

If there's one thing I felt the Space Marines were missing, it was a hulking pseudo-dreadnought gunslinging battlewalker. I love this thing. Sure, stubbers might seem a little uncouth compared to a Holy Bolter, but they look cool. So, I'm sold. Also, it appears that this thing might be able to sneak into battle, rather than deploy normally, which is both bonkers and brilliant. I'll take two.

aeronautica imperialis

We learned more about Aeronautica Imperialis at GenCon, and can now see how gorgeous the fighters and bombers are going to be. It's really not going to take much to coerce me into investing in a few squadrons!

skaeth's wild hunt beastgrave

Beastgrave moves the focus towards Ghur, realm of beasts, as Warhammer Underworlds continues to expand and develop. The new warbands show a lot of promise, with Skaeth's Wild Hunt giving us a glimpse of the aelf-like Kurnothi, rumoured to be flexible and fearsome at range.

bloodbowl skink lizardmen

Blood Bowl is also getting some love with a new Lizardmen team. This specialised team includes brutal Saurus and quick Skink models, each designed for a certain role in bringing you victory!

keyforge words collide

Exciting news for Keyforge players! Archons, you now have a new set on the horizon! The third set for the game, Worlds Collide, sees Mars and Sanctum rotated out and replaced by two new houses. Alongside the Saurian Republic and the Grand Star Alliance, we will also see new mechanics and options to deal with enemies, such as using wards to protect your creatures!

marvel crisis protocol

Also turning heads is Atomic Mass Games' new superhero project, Crisis Protocol. With gorgeous and chunky 40mm models and the promise of building your own team of enhanced individuals, this looks like it's going to be a blast. The rules are available as a PDF already, too!

We'll stop there and catch our breath. Let us know if we missed anything, and what you're looking forward to the most!
