Roger roger! It's a brand new week, time to see what's fresh in the industry with Frontline News!
Great news for Star Wars Legion commanders! The Separatist Droid Army is receiving reinforcements! The new upgrade expansion provides an array of options to help expand coordinate range, superior communications, more reliable shooting, and extra heavy weapons such as the gruesome Radiation Cannon or the E-5s sniper.
Fortunately, the Republic refuses to be outgunned. Tough and well-armed, the Clone Troopers are getting new toys too, with their own upgrade set. The RPS-6 can take out tanks, while the DP-23 rattles through armour, dropping foes like flies. With a Captain and a Specialist, the Clone Troopers will be ceaseless in their lethal efficiency, and have access to other devices to facilitate a glorious victory.
Switching to the mud, blood and ringing steel of a fantasy battlefield, A Song of Ice and Fire continues to expand with the introduction of House Baratheon. Fielding the slow but heavily armoured Wardens that can weaken enemies or render them vulnerable to attack, and Stag Knights who become stronger as they lose ranks, eventually becoming a veritable whirlwind of death, they also have access to Sentinels that wield double hammers that can crack through even the toughest armour.
Talking of heavily-armoured brutes, Forgeworld are unleashing another chapter-specific contemptor for Warhammer 40,000. This time it's the turn of the Ultramarines to get a new toy. Imperious and statuesque, this model captures the arrogant and redoubtable nature of the superhuman defenders of humanity.
When it comes to defending humanity, few do it with such style and panache as the Sisters of Battle - or Adeptus Sororitas. We're seeing some incredible new kits emerging for this much-loved army. If you thought the Dark Angels were fans of cathedralesque imagery, you ain't seen nothing yet!
Meanwhile, beneath the battlefields, war rages between the lawmakers and a sinister wave of cultists in the new expansion set for Necromunda Underhive. Featuring exquisite terrain, two full forces of beautful miniatures and much, much more, Dark Uprising promises to keep Necromunda players coming back for more.
You get a hell of a lot of content in this box, and veteran players will have a field day incorporating it into their existing campaigns. We can't wait to get our hands on this!
It's not just the battlefields of the far future that are about to be graced with stunning new models. Warcry is getting some new shinies as well, and they're absolutely incredible. The Mind Stealer Sphiranx would look gorgeous on a shelf, let alone in the midst of a bout of tabletop carnage.
But that's just the appetiser... Age of Sigmar is about to get turned inside out and upside down by the arrive of the Slaves to Darkness battletome. The new Chaos Warrior models are breathtaking, especially these mounted models. These are going to be hard to resist... and even harder to beat in combat!
What a week, eh? With so many glorious new models and armies it's more a question of which one we're going to be buying first. Let us know what you've got your eye on in the comments!
